We also visited government schools,farms, hospitals, gram panchayat, APMC and collected required information which helped us to know their current educational status, health issues, current and marketing procedures for the agricultural products of this village.We aimed our field visit on PURA project which is projected by D.A.P.J Abdul Kalam . Based on this project we came out with four connectivity’s that is physical, electronics, knowledge and economics.
According to these connectivity’s we collected information from the rural people by personally visiting their houses, which helped us to encounter the problems faced by them and came to know how they manage their life with available resources. We came to know the facilities provided to the rural people by government and its ground reality.
We had expert lecture series by BEO,DYSP, PDO, PWD,TMO which was very useful for us to understand the importance of management practices done in rural area .
BEO explained about the educational system in shirgoan village, how it works,how they the students,teachers and overall educational system with the help of government educational schemes, BRC’s, CRC’s and SDMC.
PDO shared views on the income and expenditure ,total irrigated and non-irrigated land ,major cultivated crops, statistical information of shirgoan village.
PWD officer said about the importance of planning in infrastructure development in rural area. Guest explained how the investigation on cost is made and how tendering process is carried out.
DYSP addressed about police department’s law and order procedures and explained the importance of controlling on illegal activities, crimes, harassment, child labour in rural areas.
Taluk Medical officer provided awareness about child marriage,child bearing age of women, role of primary and secondary health care services,health care schemes by government.
Through all these interactions we gained knowledge about the particular department in detail and how system works in rural areas.We are very thankful to our faculties and seniors who made our ideas to explore through rural immersion programme.
