A study on Rural immersion by Apeksha Shetty, Semester 1

Rural life - SMSR
Rural immersion study programme was conducted for a short period of four days at Shirgoan, Belgaum.  This study has impacted a lot on us, as it was completely a new experience for us we understood how people in rural areas survive with limited resources and difficulties they face in daily activities.

Comparing our life with their life, it was painful to know that we are not satisfied with the facilities we have, but even though they are not getting basic facilities they are surviving without many complaints.

We got to know that complaining is a easy job but compromising is a difficult job. Then we learnt how compromising plays a vital role in our life by working in a team and analyzing rural immersion field visits.

There were only few students who belonged to rural background in our batch. Our institution took a step forward towards rural immersion programme to make students realize the concept of rural which would add value to our career and be competitive as future market of our country is in villages.

So finally I thank our institution for coming up with such an innovative learning perception and giving us the opportunity to experience the rural life.
