Career guidance for rural high school students by Manjunath Guruwin, Semester 1

We conducted a workshop in government school of Shirgoan village for high school 10th and 9thstd students for creating the educational awareness.

Career guidance - SMSR

Initially we interacted with the students and asked them about their interest in education, what they know about career opportunities after schooling. Soon after this session we created a awareness by a role play depicting importance of education.

As we wanted to know the talents of the rural students we conducted a talent show where the students actively showed their interest and participated in activities like singing, dialogue delivery, Mimicry, puzzle game, pin the tail of elephant and direction games.

The students were shy in nature but our motivation made them to eliminate stage fear, we were delighted to know that some of them had aims to become district commissioner, army officer, engineers etc. At the end of the session the students gave us the feedback that they got clear picture of choosing their career after schooling which brought smile on our team’s effort.

This is how we were successful in conducting a workshop in shirgaon village by creating awareness about education to the rural high school students.
