The Great Experience: by Amruta K and Sangmesh V, III semester

To be a student member of the SMSR’s BOS has been an experience worth remembering till now. We were asked to attend a special workshop with BOS members, which was to be held on 27^th Sept, 2015. Before attending this workshop we were a bit skeptical about the extent of our involvement and asked ourselves a few questions such as “why student have to be a part of BOS meeting?”, “What will be the roles & responsibility of a student in such a  meeting?”, and “Will they consider our suggestions or not?”.

All our doubts were cleared during this workshop as we got a chance to share our opinion infront of all the members. The board was comprising of chairman ( our own HOD), experts from IIM’s, TISS, industry along with our own faculty members. The workshop, as usual, was kick started with SMSR creed and proceed according to the agenda. We got a chance to learn quite a few new things and it also provided us with a platform to express our own and student body’s point of view in front of the board members. The members gave us inputs on the percieved expectations of the industry and the prevailing gap with regard to the same. All the board members were equally contributing towards finding a solution for passive attitude found in students these days.

The precious advice given by the board members really got us all worked up. We were provided with ample opportunity by the chairman of the board to share our views without any hesitation.

It was really a memorable experience for us, and we hope that KLETU-SMSR will keep exposing us to such opportunities in the future also.
